The Goma (Sacred fire rite) at Buddhist Temple
Kawasaki Daishi, Grand Head Temple of the Chisan Sect of the Shingon Buddhism, is dedicated to the teachings of the Kobo Daishi Kukai, one of the biggest Temples in JAPAN. The Goma (Sacred fire rite) is held in the Main Hall. Meaning "To Burn", this religious ceremony involves burning wood (symbolizing worldly desires, the source of suffering) in fire on a raised platform in front of the image of Kobo Daishi.
