Ume Festival and The Nodate (an outdoor Japanese Tea Ceremony) in Kairakuen Park.

An Ume (Prunus mume, Japanese apricot) is the Flower that Japanese people loves so much just like a Sakura (Cherry blossom).



Kairakuen Park is a Japanese garden located in Mito, Ibaraki, JAPAN. Along with Kenrokuen Park and Korakuen Park, it is considered one of the Three Great Gardens of JAPAN.

Spring is here in Tokyo, 2011

Tokyo experienced its first spring storm today! The first spring storm, a strong south wind that signals the coming in spring is called "Haru-Ichiban" in Japan.
