The Japanese Girl's Day "Hinamatsuri"

March 3rd is Japanese Girl's Day called Hinamatsuri.

This is a day to pray for young Girl's growth and happiness. Most families with Girls display Hina-Ningyo(Japanese Dolls). The custom of displaying dolls began during the Heian period.

"Hina-arare" is a traditional sweet that popped rice coated with sugar for Japanese Girl's day.

We enjoyed Hinamatsuri with Green Tea and Hina-arare!!
